 Belly Dance Classes with Anaheed

Belly Dancing is a powerful, feminine form of artistic expression. Give yourself the gift of dance and try Belly Dancing!
Overview: The goal of Anaheed's classes is to provide the student with the full range of options for Belly Dance styles. She incorporates American with Arabic, Turkish, Egyptian, East Indian, and others to give the widest choices possible. The goal is to be able to apply both free-style interpretation and specific technique to any style of music.
Beginning: These classes cover introductory movements of torso, chest, hips, and arms, as well as work with veil, zills, and some step combinations. Practice at home is recommended to make the best progress. Classses can be repeated as often as necessary until you feel comfortable with the vocabulary. Attire: comfortable exercise clothing, bare feet, and hip scarf to help visualize line of movement. Arabic trousers, crop tops, and other belly dance practice costume pieces are welcome, but not required.
Intermediate: Students are expected to know how to play zills while dancing. Movement vocabulary will be expanded in all areas, with more in-depth coverage and more variety. Instruction on professional costuming will be presented. All students wil be expected to perform for the class at some point (the only way to get over it is to get through it!). Attire: Practice costumes / clothing can be more thematic - trousers, full skirts, jingle belts, etc.

All Classes are on THURSDAY EVENINGS. Please call Anaheed before your first visit (818-893-9019). Class cards can be purchased in class at the rate of
$40 for 4 classes. Single drop-ins are $15 each class.
